I am a black woman. A dancer. A choreographer. An educator. A dance anthropologist.

I explore the culture of African diasporic dance forms. I investigate where they came from and why they emerged. I am captivated by history and anthropology, tying these two elements into my work whether it be teaching or choreographing.

I create dances that reflect a cultural experience. I teach culture through dance in hopes that we are able to further understand one another.

I am a black woman. A dancer. A choreographer. An educator. A dance anthropologist. I am all of these things in one, and all are integral to my art making.
